Welcome to SabiSuki

Beautiful wearable art - artisan-crafted scarves, jackets, wraps and accessories, each piece unique, many inspired by Japanese designs and using vintage textiles or salvaged kimono and obi fabrics.

Greetings. Please take the time to look around this site. Every item here is both handmade and unique - I never make the same thing twice. Some of these items take many hours of work, layering, stitching, hand-embroidering or attaching sequins. Most are made exclusively with high quality fabrics, mainly silk, which I source from all over the world, particularly Japan.

Much of my work is concerned with the beauty to be found in decay: tarnished gilt, moss on rocks, peeling paint, etc. This is why I use many vintage and reclaimed materials in my pieces, such as kimono fabrics, broken jewellery and glass cullet. I also often leave cut edges raw. I believe that nothing should go to waste and that new uses should be found for anything beautiful, no matter how cracked or tarnished.

Every item here is made with care and affection, and I hope will be worn in the same way by the purchaser.
